About the Role
An exciting opening is available for a Product Owner within the IT team, focusing on aligning business strategies and user requirements with Salesforce and other critical platforms. This role acts as the key voice for users, owning the product vision, prioritising the backlog, and ensuring that solutions deliver measurable value. Responsibilities include balancing cross-functional priorities, aligning stakeholders, and guiding technical input across Salesforce, industry billing solutions, and integrated systems. This position serves as a vital bridge between technical and business teams, collaborating closely with architects, developers, suppliers, and operational leads to deliver high-quality, user-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and refine the product vision and roadmap for Salesforce and connected systems to support business goals and digital strategy.
- Translate user needs and business requirements into detailed, prioritised user stories and product features.
- Manage and maintain the product backlog, adjusting for evolving priorities, technical dependencies, and feedback.
- Provide technical and functional insights for business process design, ensuring usability and integration requirements are addressed.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, collaborating on cross-platform integrations and technical enhancements.
- Lead engagement with delivery teams, determining delivery methodology, sprint content, and priorities with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate product performance, ensuring alignment with IT standards, governance, and service expectations.
- Oversee change management processes for assigned products, ensuring effective risk mitigation and seamless transition to support.
- Promote continuous improvement and enhance user experience, keeping up to date with Salesforce advancements and industry trends.
Ideal Experience & Skills
- Strong background in digital product management or platform ownership, preferably with Salesforce or cloud-based environments.
- Proven expertise managing Salesforce and enterprise-grade platforms, including Microsoft 365.
- Experience working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management and change governance within a regulated or utility context.
- Skilled at bridging communication between business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience in the water or utilities sector is advantageous.
- Exposure to billing or customer service platforms specific to the industry is desirable.
- Project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) and Salesforce certifications or equivalent practical experience would be beneficial.
