About the Role
The Salesforce Administrator II position plays a crucial role within the Business Transformation Office (BTO), focusing on managing Salesforce and marketing automation projects and platform administration. This hybrid role, based in Long Beach, CA (three days in-office), includes responsibilities such as platform configuration, license management, user support, and driving process improvements across departments. The position requires a hands-on approach to optimize Salesforce’s scalability, security, and user experience while aligning platform capabilities with evolving business goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead Salesforce-related projects end-to-end including planning, requirements gathering, scope management, budgeting, timelines, and vendor coordination.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives and ensure Salesforce solutions meet business needs.
- Manage Salesforce configurations such as custom objects, fields, validation rules, Lightning pages, and automation (flows, processes, workflows).
- Maintain and update detailed project documentation, including design documents, data flow diagrams, test plans, and user guides.
- Develop and optimize Salesforce dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights aligned with sales, support, and operational goals.
- Administer user roles, permissions, and license allocation while ensuring compliance with security best practices.
- Onboard and train new Salesforce users, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting.
- Conduct regular security audits and enforce data privacy policies to protect sensitive information.
- Stay current with Salesforce updates and marketing automation platform enhancements, proactively recommending improvements.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between IT, sales, marketing, and other teams to streamline processes and enhance platform utilization.
Required Skills
- Salesforce Administrator certification (Advanced certifications a plus).
- Proven experience configuring and administering Sales Cloud; familiarity with Service Cloud, CPQ, and Revenue Cloud preferred.
- Strong project management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently prioritize tasks and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, or related fields.
- 3 to 6+ years of Salesforce Administration experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional Salesforce certifications (Business Analyst, Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud, CPQ Specialist, Experience Cloud).
- Experience managing marketing automation platforms.
- Strong documentation skills and experience with declarative automation tools.
- Familiarity with hybrid work environments and collaboration tools.
- Knowledge of security and compliance standards in Salesforce environments.
