About the Role

The Salesforce Developer will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining secure Salesforce applications for government clients, particularly within the Department of Transportation. This position involves working in a cross-functional Agile team, utilizing modern DevOps practices, and supporting the full software development lifecycle. The role requires hands-on development experience, a strong understanding of Salesforce automation and integration, and the ability to deliver scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Salesforce Architects and government stakeholders to develop tailored Salesforce solutions.
  • Automate business processes using tools like Flows, Formulas, Flow Orchestrator, and Email Alerts.
  • Develop integrations between Salesforce and external systems such as Login.gov and OKTA via REST, SOAP APIs, and Single Sign-On.
  • Manage migration of code and configurations using Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins, SFDX, and Change Sets.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code adhering to coding standards.
  • Track and update project progress through JIRA or similar Agile lifecycle management tools.
  • Conduct code reviews and write unit/integration tests ensuring 90% test coverage.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently.
  • Document technical approaches and design specifications.
  • Stay current with Salesforce platform advancements and best practices to implement innovative solutions.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years focused on Salesforce platform development.
  • Expertise in Salesforce state and workflow models configuration.
  • Proficient with Service Cloud and Digital Experiences Cloud.
  • Skilled in RESTful APIs, SOAP, FTP/SFTP, HTML, JavaScript, XML, and JSON.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins and GitHub.
  • Hands-on experience using MuleSoft for Salesforce integrations.
  • Proficiency with Lightning Web Components (LWC).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator and Platform Developer I certifications required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within Federal agencies, especially the Department of Transportation.
  • Active DOT security clearance.
  • Advanced Salesforce certifications, such as Platform Developer II.
  • Experience designing automated build and deployment pipelines.
