About the Role
The Lead Salesforce Developer will spearhead projects related to call center support, marketing automation, data management, mobile apps, and sales modules. This hands-on leadership role includes guiding onshore and offshore developers, shaping Salesforce architecture, enforcing coding standards, and aligning technical solutions with business goals. The ideal candidate will drive initiatives independently and collaborate closely with technical leaders and managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain custom Salesforce solutions using Apex and Visualforce, emphasizing best development practices and data integrity.
- Build new features using Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Aura frameworks for internal and external apps like communities.
- Utilize Lightning Flow Builder effectively, deciding when to use Flow or custom code.
- Collaborate with program managers, business analysts, and senior developers to define project scopes and technical plans.
- Enforce coding standards and conduct code and architecture reviews.
- Present technical designs and solutions to stakeholders including product managers and senior leaders.
- Identify and implement process improvements for Salesforce lifecycle management.
- Monitor and maintain Salesforce stability and ensure smooth daily support.
- Assess change impacts and recommend alternatives where needed.
- Support enterprise integration efforts involving Salesforce and other systems like ERP or AWS.
- Mentor junior developers and provide training on new Salesforce releases and best practices.
- Participate in occasional off-hours support for production systems.
Required Experience and Skills
- Extensive experience as a senior Salesforce developer with expertise in Sales, Service, and Experience Clouds; Health Cloud experience is a plus.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and influence development teams and drive technical decisions.
- Deep knowledge of Salesforce development, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning components, flows, reporting, and design principles.
- Expertise in Aura and Lightning Web Components.
- Experience managing large customer portals on Salesforce preferred.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD), design patterns, and architectural best practices.
- Skilled at presenting designs and communicating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Familiarity with OAuth and security best practices.
- Solid understanding of relational databases.
- Web technologies experience such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Experience creating web services using SOAP, REST, XML, and JSON.
- Proficient in DevOps tools and CI/CD processes, including Salesforce-specific tools like Copado, Git, or Bamboo.
- Knowledge of middleware platforms like Mulesoft is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or regulated industries.
- Salesforce certifications including System/Application Architect and Platform Developer.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
