About the Role

The Salesforce Administrator plays a key role within the IT – Sales and Service development team, overseeing and optimizing the Salesforce platform. This includes user management, data accuracy, workflow automation, reporting, and training. The role requires in-depth knowledge of complex configurations, integrations, and business processes. The Salesforce Administrator frequently works with stakeholders to implement improvements beyond basic administrative tasks. This is a mid-level position requiring familiarity with advanced Salesforce features such as Flows, custom objects, and data management techniques, along with providing ongoing support and ensuring system stability.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical advocate for optimizing Salesforce solutions to meet business and organizational goals.
  • Customization & Configuration:
    • Manage custom objects, fields, and relationships between objects.
    • Customize page layouts, record types, and Lightning pages to align with business needs.
    • Create and manage validation rules to ensure data integrity.
    • Build and maintain automation like workflows, process builder flows, and email alerts.
    • Design and maintain custom reports and dashboards for business insights.
  • Data Management:
    • Handle data imports, exports, and updates using tools like Data Loader and Data Import Wizard.
    • Regularly clean and manage Salesforce data to remove duplicates and ensure accuracy.
    • Assist with data migration projects, mapping data from external systems to Salesforce.
  • Process & Workflow Automation:
    • Implement automation tools such as Process Builder, Flows, and Workflow Rules to simplify business processes.
    • Design and configure approval processes to handle complex business approvals.
    • Develop and execute unit, integration, and user acceptance tests, including creating test data.
    • Manage rollback contingencies and applicable backup solutions.
    • Build strong relationships with business partners, IT team members, and stakeholders.
    • Share insights on new Salesforce technologies to drive innovation and improve the customer experience.
    • Support troubleshooting tasks and respond to ad-hoc requests.
    • Participate in on-call support for Salesforce.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent practical experience.

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator, including Salesforce Administrator Certification.
  • Additional experience in software development, IT support, or other tech roles is preferred.
  • Ability to influence technical decisions and architecture.
  • Deep knowledge of Salesforce product, architecture, and best practices.
  • Experience in managing user roles and permissions.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and work independently.
