GEHA, a leading benefits provider offering medical and dental plans to federal employees, retirees, and their dependents, is seeking a Salesforce Solution Architect. The ideal candidate will design and implement solutions using Salesforce products to meet the needs of enterprise-grade clients. The Salesforce Solution Architect’s primary responsibility is to select the best solution based on specific requirements, weighing the trade-offs of different approaches. This role ensures that the chosen solution will scale, be sustainable over time, and avoid accumulating technical debt.
About the Role
As part of GEHA’s ongoing commitment to innovation, the Salesforce Solution Architect will contribute to the development of the long-term Salesforce strategy, working closely with internal teams to execute projects. The role requires a deep understanding of GEHA’s strategic business goals and the Salesforce platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay updated on GEHA’s strategic business objectives
- Provide architectural guidance to Salesforce Administrators and Developers
- Collaborate with external vendors on recommended solutions
- Document and analyze GEHA’s existing Salesforce architecture and integrations
- Research emerging Salesforce technologies and propose enhancements for cost-effectiveness and flexibility
- Advise on Salesforce platform adoption, including development frameworks and languages
- Oversee end-to-end Salesforce integration processes
- Review and recommend improvements to the current Salesforce implementation
- Serve as a technical mentor to the Salesforce IT team
- Review business and technical documents and participate in peer reviews
- Create essential documentation and artifacts for the Salesforce platform
- Assign tasks to technical resources, ensuring adherence to design recommendations
- Monitor progress and assist with milestone development
- Perform other related duties as required
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Marketing, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Experience Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in leading Salesforce projects
- Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, and JavaScript
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Salesforce Certification in at least one of the following: Administrator, Developer, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, or Platform App Builder
- Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Health Cloud
- Proactive with a positive attitude
- Excellent relationship-building abilities
- Strong analytical skills with a trend-observation mindset
- Responsive to inquiries and able to provide clear instructions
- Ability to tailor communication to various audiences at all levels
- Self-starter with leadership experience in managing projects or workstreams
- Exceptional written communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate concepts visually and in writing to support decision-making
- Strategic approach to solution design with the ability to develop and execute tactical plans
- Strong leadership skills, able to motivate and direct Salesforce teams, both internal and external
- Familiarity with ADO in an agile work environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Salesforce Technical Architect certification (CTA)
- Salesforce Solution Architect certification
- Salesforce Designer certifications
- Active participation in the Salesforce Community
- Experience in the health insurance industry
